Interior Architecture, Adding Value
What forms the basis of interior design? For us, it's the ideal balance between functional use and aesthetic design. Well-designed and attractive interiors add value to real estate, enhancing the experience and usability of our immediate (work) environment. Your interior is, therefore, crucial and deserves full attention. During the October living month of 2024, we would love to explain in detail how we apply this service in practice. After all, on average, you spend more time at the office than at home!
The architects and interior designers at Quadrant4 understand the importance of the synergy between exterior and interior. We thoroughly study the real estate, the organization, and the users of the building. Based on this, we formulate the principles for the interior and start the process. We do not shy away from tackling challenging issues. The result is an inspiring and distinctive interior that aligns with your organization's identity, vision, and functional requirements. We bring your ambitions to life.
As part of the design team, we analyze the design and associated documents comprehensively, considering aspects such as the program of requirements & wishes, regulations, feasibility, sustainability, and the identity of the user, all necessary for a successfully integrated project. All this is combined in a design analysis. The result? When the integration loop is completed, choices made are documented clearly, and future decisions are outlined explicitly. This provides more control over both the process and the outcome.
A PVE is a theoretical framework based on legislation and input data. We use a pivot table to place the NEN1824 standard under the calculation of required square meters.
This survey addresses working methods, space types, collaboration, culture, and facilities. With this tool, you involve the employee or working group in future housing plans.
The online mood board is curated by our team of architects, possibly in collaboration with our client. It allows various concepts to be framed in “dos and don'ts.”
We use two sustainability systems as an architecture firm. One is the BREEAM-NL certification method for a sustainable built environment, which allows projects to be assessed for integrated sustainability.
For the interior, we are inspired by the method of WELL. This method focuses on 10 specific elements: air, water, nutrition, light, movement, comfort, sound, materials, community, and a healthy mind. The elements of WELL have inspired us greatly and form the standard base of our design philosophy.
For many users, a design truly comes to life when a design drawing is translated into an image. Quadrant4 actively employs 3D presentations, and of course, we use the VR headset.
Sustainable construction ensures that buildings continue to meet requirements even after a long time. They can change function, remain flexible, and stay aesthetically pleasing.
In our advice and material selection, we work with certified sustainable materials as much as possible. We aim for the highest attainable selection, such as cradle-to-cradle gold. The residual value of the materials used in the building can be outlined and registered in the BIM model we coordinate for you.
There are various reasons why our clients choose to hire an interior architect or designer. Our team has the necessary expertise and knowledge to make the most of a space and provide smart and attractive designs that we are happy to showcase in 3D. With a deep understanding of architectural principles, materials, colors, and ergonomics, we also leverage our network to support our clients. Through this collaboration, we help our clients make informed design decisions, considering budgets and the specific wants and wishes of end users.
In the design process, we speak of various phases. Our activities per phase mirror the task descriptions according to the DNR. This new regulation was drawn up to establish a uniform and insurable contract practice that respects the interests of both the architect and the client.
During the execution phase, we coordinate and manage various aspects of the project, including planning, communication with contractors and suppliers, time monitoring, originality of the design, and progress. In our role, we filter communication streams and relieve our clients up to the final stages of project delivery and occupancy.
Quadrant4's website features various references to projects we have designed and guided as a full-service architecture firm, demonstrating our extensive services. Below, we highlight three interior design projects from three different perspectives:
Highlighted - Van der Velden
We assisted Van der Velden with their housing and developed a new standard that can be more widely applied in their real estate management and maintenance, enabling a uniform approach for other locations in the future.
Highlighted - Steketee / LEMKEN
What helped us collectively was the interior workshop where we used a card game to collect terms and frameworks concerning Identity, Color & Material, Well-being, Working Methods, Facilities, No-go's, and Ambitions.
Highlighted - T58 Tilburg
We assisted the real estate developer and investor in creating a beautiful office space with a business area. Here, we applied the golden ratio, ensuring the whole can suit future users and companies in a “one size fits all” approach.
